Governance & Daily Life

The Three Arrows community is governed by a Board of Directors and various committees, a set of Rules & Regulations and the membership itself.  Every member is asked to contribute time to at least one committee. These committees oversee facilities, roads, social activities, workshops, educational “schmoozes,” crafts, tennis courts, and the waterfront (see waterfront rules). In addition, informal groups, such as the book club, regularly meet throughout the year. Other member-led activities include a weekly “cinema”, yoga, movement, creative writing and craft workshops, enhancing the overall options for participation. And the summer’s crescendo puts it all together in our traditional, member-written and produced Labor Day Concert and Show.

We employ a year-round caretaker who lives in the original farmhouse at the foot of the hill.  The waterfront has lifeguards all week during July and August and on weekends in June and September.

We hold regular membership meetings each year: beginning the season with the Memorial Day weekend, in July and August, and ending the season on Labor Day. And a winter meeting takes place in November in NYC.
